Over the Summer, this team transformed from a mixed age group, to a more focused one, now consisting of only 2012 and some 2013 girls. That did not diminish their momentum or efforts as they continued to compete against top teams, not only in the state but out of the state as well. Finishing with a record of 12-5-4, they rejoiced in an undefeated run in the Northwest League and a strong showing in the Glacier Premier Cup where they competed against 2011 teams. They were undefeated winners of both the Yellowstone Kick-Off Classic and the Tamarack Fall Classic. A remarkable achievement from a year previous, where the team went 0-3 at that event.
The sky is the limit for these girls right now. The team continues to grow, not only in number, but in passion for the game, and technical skill. They are currently engaged in winter training indoors and anxious for the snow to clear so they get back to the grass and start the Spring season.
2012 FC Missoula Girls Youth Soccer Team celebrates their undefeated victory at the Tamarack Fall Classic
This team represents the widest age range of any team in our program, yet had no problem battling with 2012 teams all season. Finishing with an astonishing record of 32-6-1, this strong group of girls had a record 22 straight victories at one point. Undefeated in the Hot Shot tournament, they strived for more. Pushing for the top of the gold bracket in all remaining tournaments and winning the Montana Showcase at the end. These girls never quit and never stop coming, they will be a force for years to come!
